About us
Velomobiel.nl was founded by Jacobs en Ymte Sijbrandij. After having worked for over 5 years with Flevobike in Dronten they decided to start in 1999. March 2001, Theo van Andel joined the company and the name was changed into Velomobiel.nl. This name better represents our activities and attracts people to our website.
Allert Jacobs worked as a Flevobike employee on the Aluminium Alleweder and designed and produced the Carbon Alleweder. Ymte Sijbrandij is Dutch Champion Recumbent cycle racing. Together they travelled over 180.000 km in the both the Alleweders. These experiences, a lot of thinking and tests are the base of the development of the Quest.
By cycling ourselves everyday we think we can develop practical vehicles: Velomobiel.nl, bikes made by bikers!
